# Chronicle alliance and event records
The Chronicle is the curated record of Wynncraft guild alliances and events that
drives the history map's Chronicle layer. It holds, for each alliance: name, tag,
colour, whether it was a war or community alliance, a description, and a list of
member guilds with join and leave dates. Events carry a type, title, description,
dates and the guilds and alliances involved.
## How entries got there
Every entry was proposed as a submission with a note explaining its evidence, and
approved before it became part of the record. The bulk was compiled from the
community guild-history timeline, forum threads, guild newsletters and analysis of
the territory-exchange log, with each claim checked against a source before entry.
## What it can and cannot support
The Chronicle is a *secondary* record: a curated synthesis, not a primary document.
Citing it is appropriate for the shape of the alliance landscape — who was allied
with whom, and between which dates. Where an individual claim matters, the article
should cite the primary source the Chronicle entry itself rests on.
Dates for alliance membership are frequently the date the written record first
attests a relationship, not necessarily the date it began. Where that distinction
is known to matter, the articles say so.
## Live view
The current state of these records is visible on the history map's Chronicle
layer, and the alliance cards embedded in wiki articles are rendered from them
directly.
