The Valhalla side changed shape mid-war. In late 2021 The Mage Legacy and TheNoLifes turned on their allies ([[the-federation-dies|not the first bloc]] to die of internal strain): friction was visible from August, and both were excluded when ten Valhalla guilds reorganized as [[Vanir]] on 28 November 2021{{cite:community-guild-timeline|28 Nov 2021 Vanir roster}}. The betrayal erupted into open war in December — 5,359 territory exchanges that month{{cite:territory-exchanges|5,359 territory exchanges, December 2021}} — and TheNoLifes went on to help lead Khaos{{cite:cameron-oral-history|Cameron oral history (TAq veteran testimony)}}. Vanir itself collapsed on 18 December 2021, twenty days after forming, when Emorians, Nefarious Ravens, IceBlue Team and [[Avicia]] left{{cite:community-guild-timeline|18 Dec 2021 entry}}.
