The Astrafteri Affinity, written Astrafterí Affinity and shortened to Astra, was a Wynncraft alliance of 2016 founded by coralialia. It mixed small guilds with large ones, took in HackForums during that guild's expulsion from Ordo Malleus, and decayed through the summer of 2016.
Founding
coralialia, posting as qqcora, wrote in June 2016: "refer to the alliance i created, astraffinity, which is a combination of many small guilds and big guilds, including hax"[1]. Drew1011, her guild leader at the time, wrote that she founded it after leaving Holders of LE, "to rival Ordo, as she had begun to hate both Arenos and Kru"[2], and placed the founding in about January 2016. No reason for its creation was recorded at the time.
By 11 February 2016 HackForums' recruitment thread listed "Astrafterí-affinity" under Alliances in its opening post[3]. The alliance's own thread, "✯ Astrafterí Affinity ✯", was posted on 3 April 2016 — by LordMuttonChops, not by coralialia — and drew 14 replies before being locked[4].
Membership and character
The Sebbelonien Plebs, Blacklisted, Cats and Turtles and Dragons Arise were members[5]. Drew1011 wrote that he joined Holders of LE to it in March 2016 as a hedge while Valkyrie membership was being negotiated[6]. Its founder put its size at "over 10 guilds, and every single one of them would back hax up if anyone tried to do something like this" — a claim made in the middle of an argument on an anti-HackForums thread[1]. Later that month she distinguished it from the informal understanding then holding the map: told by an UltimateXeons member that "our alliance with Hax and Lir" was letting three guilds keep their territory, she replied that this was "a mutual land agreement" and pointed him at the Astrafteri thread as "the actual alliance"[7].
HackForums and the alliance's end
In Drew1011's account, HackForums' rise ran through the alliance: "In Astra their power grew exponentially. They no longer had a massive list of allies that they could not attack, and had much more freedom in wars." As the alliance's guilds went inactive, "Astra eventually died, but Hax remained. They stayed in an alliance with Libertas, and divided all of Wynn amongst themselves and a few others such as Blacklisted"[8]. He gave no dates for any of it[9].
On one point the contemporaneous record differs from his sequence. He places HackForums' move into Astra after the collapse of Ordo Malleus on 9 March 2016; the HackForums opening post already listed the alliance on 11 February 2016[10], during the weeks the same account says HackForums was expelled from Ordo[11]. The alliance's last recorded activity was the closure of its thread; the final post is dated 14 September 2016[4].
