Cucumber Company becomes Smtn else

At the start of Season 8 (autumn 2022) Cucumber Company was archived and renamed 'Smtn else' — as Gang of Fools left and Paladins United, The Simple Ones and TerraLune joined — then renamed 'smtn elf' for Christmas 2022 and never changed back.

At the start of guild Season 8, in the autumn of 2022, Cucumber Company — the fourteen-guild super-alliance of the 2022 realignment — changed its name. "Cucumber was archived. The new alliance name is called Smtn else," recorded Titans Valor's newsletter, the Titan Times, which also reported that Gang of Fools had "left and betrayed the alliance" and welcomed three new members: Paladins United, The Simple Ones and TerraLune[1].

The transition came at the season boundary, around 25 September 2022[2]. The membership otherwise carried over: the change was a rename, not a reformation[1].

The second rename

For Christmas 2022 "Smtn else" became "smtn elf" — and was never renamed back[3]. By 17 February 2023 a forum post was calling smtn elf "unquestionably the greatest super-alliance of 2023."[4]

Under that accidental permanent name the alliance dominated the map into 2023, until The Avocado split and its quiet dissolution that summer.
