Background
Both guilds had shared an alliance not long before: Idiot Co joined smtn elf in March 2023[1], months before The Aquarium walked out in the Avocado split. By 2024, guild diplomacy had moved into private Discords — the private-diplomacy era — and the war's causes, its sides beyond the two principals, and its settlement were never recorded. Wider coalitions appear to have fought alongside the two principals, but their names and rosters were never recorded[2].
Course of the war
The war ignited on 29 April 2024 and raged through mid-July, peaking at 5,045 territory exchanges in a single week — the highest weekly volume since the wars of 2021. A second round ran from November 2024 into January 2025[3].
The war spanned the Rekindled World map rework of 10 August 2024, which redrew the territory map between its two rounds[4][5].
Aftermath
No settlement was recorded. The fighting faded in January 2025; the next major wars were those around Aequitas and Sequoia later that year. Within the war's window falls The Long Raid of late July 2024 — a small-guild siege of Aequitas's Sky-province claim whose attackers were never named[6].
