Tapu_Fini opened the alliance's thread on 26 June 2016^[1], three weeks after The Banhammer — the second of the two anti-HackForums blocs of the early guild era to open that month.

History

Its opening post gave the earliest written description of the bloc that held the territory map, framing it as a duumvirate: "a deadly enemy rose from the defeated corpse of Ordo Malleus. This enemy, known only has 'Hack Forums' quickly established their rule through military might. Young aspiring guilds were crushed under the might of the tryhards. Soon after, another guild, Libertas, joined the surge. Many distinguished scholars compare this rule of two to the ancient guilds of 'The Nether's Ascent' and 'Kangronomicon'."^[2]

Enrolment was deliberately loose. A player could join The Anarchy directly "regardless of level or class", or "pledge your guild to The Separatists, and you way withdraw that allegiance whenever you feel the need. No guild is too small or too low level, heck, we are level 13! Strength in numbers!"^[2] The Anarchy is described as the founding guild, "a Combat Guild" led by supermariowifi with the chiefs comrade_doge and superACE.^[2] The post closed with a disclaimer: "this is all for fun, no real hate to the Hack Forums and Libertas players, just to their 'Own everything' policy."^[2]

The reception was uniformly sceptical. WhettoWen of UltimateXeons pointed to earlier attempts — "To make a long story short: It didn't work, all those guilds no longer have any territory"^[3] — and a fellow member, valvoid, spelled out his own guild's position: "our alliance with Hax and Lir (we are UXs) is gonna let the three guilds keep their territory (we are like the only three guilds with any real territory) without anybody really taking it unless one of the guilds leaves or breaks the alliance."^[4] qqcora corrected the terminology — "ur alliance with hax and lir is a mutual land agreement" — and directed readers to the Astrafterí Affinity thread as "the actual alliance".^[5] Drew1011 wrote of HackForums' readmission to Ordo Malleus: "Hax was one of the original guilds, although we kicked them out, and then for some reason, let them back in."^[6]

The founder's own expectations were modest: "Luck will definitely be needed to take down hax lol"^[7] and "even if we don't beat them, at least we can be an annoyance."^[8] Challenged on 28 June to say whether the alliance had ever attacked the bloc, Tapu_Fini answered: "I mean lir and hax. And we have. Usually around Ragni. Katoa ranch we tend to attack a lot."^[9] Tomix, replying for the bloc, disputed it — "I've never seen your guild try to take territory from us,weird heh"^[10] — and WhettoWen's comment on the state of affairs was "it should stay that way", which Tapu_Fini accepted: "Fine by me. You guys seem nice enough anyways."^[11]

Membership

No guild other than The Anarchy was ever named as a member, and none was recorded as pledging.^[12]

Legacy

No dissolution or outcome was ever recorded; the alliance was last mentioned on 1 July 2016.^[13] It was one of the two blocs behind the HackForums chief Mrussell75's remark on 30 June 2016 that "right now there is 2 anti hax alliances", the other being The Banhammer.^[14] Neither bloc changed the map: in September 2016 HackForums still held 146 of roughly 332 territories.^[15]
