Concordia was the Wynncraft war alliance of autumn 2015, founded by the guild Validus to break the hold of Kangronomicon and Nether's Ascent on the territory map. It peaked in October 2015, was answered by the creation of Ordo Malleus on 6 November, and was declared disbanded on a forum thread two days later.

Concordia was a Wynncraft war alliance of the second half of 2015, founded by the guild Validus under its leader Ezura and built out of guilds that resented the control of the territory map by Kangronomicon and Nether's Ascent[1]. It is the alliance Ordo Malleus was created to defeat — "Ordo Malleus was created for the sole purpose of defeating Concordia"[2] — and the earliest war alliance whose history is known in any detail.

The record

The narrative of Concordia comes almost entirely from one partisan account, written in February 2018 by Drew1011, who fought against the alliance. Only its end has independent documentation.

History

Formation and growth

Validus's chief tangler began recruiting Holders of LE on 5 July 2015 with, in Drew1011's summary, "many plans to revolt against Fuq & TNA and bring them down from their role as the two guilds that controlled the map"[3]. Holders of LE joined — "After a very long and diplomatic conversation with him, we joined their alliance, Concordia", Drew1011 wrote in mid-2017[4] — then left in August 2015 for Kangronomicon, and Validus declared hostilities on 16 August[5].

The alliance grew through the autumn. Drew1011 called its "growth and takedown of the remnants of Legio" "completely unprecedented and unexpected"[6] — Legio Praetoria being the March 2015 alliance of Kangronomicon, Nether's Ascent, Imperial and KnightOfValor, which had already collapsed in mid-2015[7]. The only members known by name are Validus and Historical [UEZ], led by 3zPz[8].

The October 2015 assault

In October 2015 around four Concordia guilds, Validus the strongest among them, attacked Kangronomicon and Nether's Ascent simultaneously[9]. Drew1011, then leading Holders of LE as a Kangronomicon ally, wrote that he warred alone for roughly four hours because the rest of his guild was unavailable, and that the attack was repelled[10]. A territory map he reproduces as "the aftermath of the attack" shows Holders of LE and Kangronomicon holding most of the province with Validus reduced to two tiles[11].

A second map, from late September or early October 2015, shows the opposite: Validus and Travellers holding the overwhelming majority of the province, Kangronomicon absent from it entirely, and Nether's Ascent's eastern block untouched[12]. The two images are undated in themselves; the captions are Drew1011's.

Defeat and disbandment

Concordia was answered on 6 November 2015 by the creation of Ordo Malleus, seven guilds under Paladin A'renos and Dar_Krusos[13][14]. Drew1011 attributes its defeat to Ordo's territory-assignment system, under which each member guild was given specific territories to hold: "We attacked those territories and defended them religiously, and before long Concordia gave up on touching those territories"[15].

Historical left Concordia for Ordo Malleus, and its leader 3zPz posted a thread titled "Concordia Disbanded" on 8 November 2015; it drew 27 replies and 4,049 views, was locked, and was last posted in by Ferne on 10 November 2015[14]. Drew1011 places the thread "3 days after Ordo was created", which would be the 9th — one day later[16]. The disbandment was contested: "although Ezura commented on the thread and said that it had not been disbanded, that was when most people began to consider the alliance dead"[17].

Membership

No roster of Concordia was ever published. Two member guilds are known by name — Validus, its founder, and Historical [UEZ] under 3zPz[8] — and Holders of LE belonged briefly in mid-2015[4]. "Around 3-4" guilds took part in the October assault[18].

Legacy

Concordia's direct successor was Vesta, created on 10 December 2015 by 3zPz "from the remnants of Concordia" and dead within a month[19][14]. Its larger legacy is Ordo Malleus, which outlived it by four months and set the pattern — assigned territories, a leader chat, admission by vote — that later war alliances of the early guild era reused[20]. The community guild-timeline gives Concordia a single line: "Late 2015 — Concordia Wars began somewhere here"[21].
