Drew1011 founded and unofficially led the Federation^[1], the dominant alliance of the Federation era, which held the entire territory map for 8 months and 25 days in 2018^[2].

Guild and alliance career

He joined the guild Pirates of Wynn — otherwise unrecorded — in early January 2015, and returned from a hiatus in late May 2015 to join Holders of LE^[3]. He rose to co-leader and took ownership of the guild on 16 December 2015^[4][5], and held it until 31 January 2018, when he passed it to Thundderr with the post "Make me proud."^[6]

From 6 November 2015 he sat in the leader chat of Ordo Malleus as one of its seven founding guild leaders, and in the senior chat its members called the "Shadow Government"^[7]. He withdrew Holders of LE from the alliance on 9 March 2016, the departure that ended it^[8][9], and later wrote: "many people began naming me as its destroyer. Did I truly deserve that title? To this day I'm still not sure."^[10]

Holders of LE joined Valkyrie on 18 March 2016^[9], left on 5 June 2016 to co-found the Halcyon Alliance with Yamipanda's ToastedPandas^[11], and rejoined on 3 September 2016^[12]. His leadership of Valkyrie was taken rather than inherited: by his own account he drafted the messages by which the other guild leaders asked Yuno F Gasai to stand down in the autumn of 2016, Yuno withdrew Imperial and deleted the alliance thread, and Drew1011 reposted it with permission on 15 October 2016^[13][14]. He held "Leader of the Valkyrie Alliance" from that day until 10 March 2018^[4]. In Kingdom Foxes he was "King of the Foxes" from the guild's revival as Foxton Legacy [Eon] on 24 November 2016^[15], then stepped down on 7 February 2017 when LoveLusting resumed the throne, becoming "Viceroy of the Foxes"^[16][4].

The Emperium and the one-day title

Drew1011 was the Emperium of Wynn's Shadow Advisor, the post the alliance's thread defines as "the co-leader of the alliance"^[17]. He won it in a poll run by Emperator Nitrogen2Oxygen on 31 August 2017, taking 19 votes to 5, 4 and 4 for Angry_will, Shy_Phoenix and Whimsicality, after Paladin A'renos left the post^[18], and the thread's opening post names him as Shadow Advisor from 5 September 2017 onward^[17][19].

His profile also records "Emperator of the Emperium of Wynn (15 October 2017 — 16 October 2017)", and the one-day reign is unexplained^[4]. Three sources bear on it and no two agree. The profile claims the title; Drew1011's own narrative says he ran for Emperator and lost, 30 votes to 31, to Nitrogen2Oxygen, and never claims to have held the office^[20]; and the alliance's thread names Nitrogen2Oxygen as Emperator on 5 September 2017 and Angry_will as Emperator in the opening post as it was last edited on 17 October 2017, with Drew1011 as Shadow Advisor in both^[21][19]. No Emperator election was ever recorded on the forums. A succession between one Emperator's exit and another's installation, falling to the co-leader, would fit every date, but whether it happened is not known.

The Coalition and the Federation

Drew1011 co-founded the Coalition with Kingdom Foxes and KingdomPhoenixes in October 2017^[22][23]. When the Federation formed in February 2018 from the Coalition's fracture and merger with the War Syndicate remnant, he founded and led it (his profile: "Founder of the Federation", 16 Feb - 10 Nov 2018)^[4] — though not without a rival claim: Slayne asserted a causal founder's role via Alliance Alliance's creation^[24]. Asked publicly in November 2018 how he had made three alliances in a year, he corrected the count to two^[25].

Three days after the Federation's collapse on 10 November 2018, he posted the "Federation Tribute" - a full roster of its member guilds and the alliance's epitaph: "What killed Federation was... internal affairs."^[1]

He also maintained on Discord "a massive ongoing written history of the guild community from May 2015 onwards"^[26]. That history, or a large part of it, survives as a serialised account posted between 22 February 2018 and 1 February 2021, covering January 2015 to June 2018 and beginning in May 2015 exactly as described^[27]. He worked from a written timeline of his own and, for the 2015-2016 chapters, from the Ordo Malleus forum thread, which he had asked Paladin A'renos to have restored: "many of the dates and minor events during the Ordo parts of this story would have been educated guesses without it."^[28] He is a participant in nearly everything the document narrates and set out his own standard for it — "I strive to tell a factually accurate story… If you ask others who were here, they might give a completely different perspective."^[29] It is the single largest source for the early guild era.
