Gilded Sparrows [Spr] was announced on the Wynncraft forums on 17 November 2017 by Killerfish: "Founded in the midst of autumn, the Gilded Sparrows flew its first flight through the chilly night sky. And although the guild itself is taking its first steps, its leader is not a novice at what he does."^[1] The guild had three rules, a joining form and a Discord requirement^[1]. Drew1011 replied the same day: "Good luck with your guild... they grow up so fast"^[2]. The guild's in-game creation date was never recorded.

The Coalition

Gilded Sparrows was one of the four founding guilds of the Coalition^[3], the third in order: "It was Fox and Phx that cofounded it, with Spr (the guild Fishie had made) being the third guild to join, and Snt being the fourth."^[4] The Coalition's founding dates to October 2017, a month before the guild's announcement thread. Guilds routinely predated their forum threads, so the two dates are not necessarily in conflict, but no earlier date for the guild was ever recorded.

Drew1011 wrote that the guild had one member and that he did most of its warring on its owner's account: "I was also the one doing 90% of the wars for Spr, as Fishie was the only one in the guild and he had given me access to his account to war with."^[5] In the same passage he wrote that he had warred on several members' accounts before the practice was banned^[6].

Disappearance

After the founding, Gilded Sparrows was never again linked to the Coalition or the Federation. The guild does not appear on Drew1011's own roster of the Coalition at the declaration of war on 21 December 2017^[7], on his February 2018 territory allocation^[8], or on the Federation's complete member list of November 2018^[9]. When or how it ceased to operate is not known.
