Wynncraft version 1.18, the Economy Update, released 18 January 2019: professions, crafting and an in-game trade market. It reshaped the economy that funded guilds but left war mechanics essentially untouched.
Version 1.18, officially titled 'The Economy Update', was released on 18 January 2019[1]{{cite:https://wynncraft.fandom.com/wiki/Version_1.18|Wynncraft Wiki (Fandom), 'Version 1.18'}} — between the Federation's fall and the founding of Luna, in the middle of the alliance wars of 2019.
Its focus was the player economy rather than warfare: it introduced the professions system (gathering and crafting)[1], and it added the in-game Trade Market[3]. The feature was trailed in January 2019 on the official Twitter account; the announcement itself does not survive[4]. On the guild side its contribution was cosmetic: 1.18 introduced guild banners, replacing 'the Mysterious Potatoes riddle'[5].
No changes to the guild war system itself were recorded in 1.18. The economy-and-war rework that transformed territory warfare — war towers, guild resource production, trade routes and taxation — came two years later, in version 1.20 'Gavel Reborn' (20 January 2021)[6][7], which also laid the groundwork for Guild seasons and the in-game ally system (see The Diplomacy update).
