Background
The Mage Legacy and TheNoLifes were both Valhalla members from its founding on 11 May 2021, part of the thirteen-guild bloc that took the map after The Great Collapse[1]. Friction between the two and their allies appears from August 2021, months before any open break[2].
The betrayal
When Valhalla's guilds reorganized as Vanir on 28 Nov 2021, both were excluded[3]. Open war followed in December: 5,359 territory exchanges that month between the two betrayers and their former allies — one of the most violent single months of territory warfare on record[4].
TheNoLifes went on to help lead Khaos[5], which it joined around 1 December 2021[6].
Aftermath
By early 2022 the fighting had folded into Khaos's last war, the winter-long struggle between Khaos and the ex-Valhalla guilds. TheNoLifes stayed hostile to its former allies into 2023, long after the blocs themselves had dissolved[7].
