The Avicia-Sequoia war was fought between Avicia, a veteran of every major bloc since 2019, and Sequoia, a guild barely a year old — founded 14 October 2022[1] — whose rise it did nothing to stop.
Background
The war belongs to the private-diplomacy era: it was never declared, never discussed on the forums, and its cause was never named[2]. Skirmishing between the two guilds is visible through spring 2023[3], while Avicia was still in smtn elf and then in the Avocado Aquarium pact.
Course of the war
The main eruption ran from 30 October to 20 November 2023, peaking at 1,454 territory exchanges per week. A second round followed in January 2024[4][5]. Which side held the advantage is not known.
Aftermath
Sequoia's rise continued regardless of the war: from mid-2024 it won seven consecutive guild seasons[6]. Sequoia and Aequitas would later fight the decade's closing wars, including the ongoing war of 2026; Avicia went on to fight the largest war ever recorded in late 2025.
