Avocado Aquarium was the two-guild war pact of Avicia and The Aquarium after they quit smtn elf in June 2023, waging a sniping and claim-taking campaign against their former allies into early 2024. The pair ran shared infrastructure including the joint subguild Avoquarium [HQs]; the pact's name was never written down while it existed.
History
The name was never written down while the pact existed.[1] After the Avocado split of June 2023, in which the two guilds rejected pressure to shrink their territorial claims and walked out of smtn elf, they ran a joint campaign against their ex-allies; Avicia's Season 13 post of 19 August 2023 calls The Aquarium “our unwavering ally and neighbour”.[2]
The pact ran shared infrastructure. The joint subguild Avoquarium [HQs] was created on 9 August 2023[3] — Avicia's June season post already thanks its allies “for the hqs”[4] — alongside the subguilds ShadowFall (The Aquarium's) and the Avos (Avicia's), across which the pair ran mega-claims. During the pact Avicia also fought the rising Sequoia in the Avicia-Sequoia war (October–November 2023, with a second round in January 2024).[5]
No formal end was ever recorded. The joint campaign ran “into early 2024”[1], fading out around February 2024.[6] The first friction between the two guilds themselves came in June 2024, after the pact had lapsed.[6]
Membership
Legacy
Avocado Aquarium is emblematic of the private-diplomacy era: a consequential alliance whose very name was never written down while it existed. Within months of its fade its members stood at the center of the era's biggest wars — The Aquarium against Idiot Co in the Idiot Co-Aquarium war from April 2024.[5]
