Background

smtn elf was the direct continuation of Cucumber Company^[1], the mega-bloc of the 2022 realignment — called 'unquestionably the greatest super-alliance of 2023' in a February 2023 thread. Pressure inside the alliance — led by busted moments, a member since March 2023^[2] — for The Aquarium and Avicia to shrink their claims drove the two guilds out^[3].

Course of the war

The Aquarium and Avicia quit in mid-June 2023; their war on their former allies ignited on 14–15 June^[4]. As a two-guild pact they waged a sniping and claim-taking campaign, running mega-claims across TAq, AVO and their subguilds ShadowFall, the Avos, and the joint subguild Avoquarium [HQs], created 9 August 2023{{cite:https://api.wynncraft.com/v3/guild/Avoquarium|Wynncraft API v3 guild record: Avoquarium [HQs], created 9 Aug 2023}}. By August 2023 the two were each other's 'unwavering ally'^[6].

The name 'Avocado Aquarium' was never written down at the time^[3], and the pact announced nothing publicly. Its opponent was the multi-guild smtn elf rump, not a single guild.

Aftermath

smtn elf did not survive the walkout. It was last mentioned in Avicia's Season 12 post of 10 June 2023^[7]; by the Season 13 post of 19 August 2023 it was gone, its dissolution never announced^[6]. The remaining guilds never fought each other.

The Avocado campaign faded in early 2024; the pact appears to have ended in late February. The first friction between The Aquarium and Avicia themselves came only in June 2024^[8], after the pact — by which time the biggest war since 2021 had begun. The split marks the start of the private-diplomacy era: no bloc roster of 2023–2026 was ever published.
