Cucumber Company was the war alliance of the great 2022 realignment, merging the ex-Valhalla and ex-Khaos worlds into a fourteen-guild bloc formed for guild Season 5. Its roster, posted to the forum megalist on 26 June 2022, was the last public alliance roster ever; it was archived and renamed 'Smtn else' at the start of Season 8.
History
Formation
The exact formation date was never recorded. The war between Khaos and the ex-Valhalla guilds was still running in January 2022; by 8 May 2022 Titan Times described “our first season being a part of the new Cucumber Company war alliance”[1], placing the founding around the start of guild Season 5 in spring 2022. The ex-Khaos and ex-Valhalla guilds stopped fighting each other and began trading territory as allies in May–June 2022.[2]
The last public roster
On 26 June 2022 a member (TherapueticLiz of Sins of Seedia) posted the full fourteen-guild roster to the megalist: Aequitas, Titans Valor, Avicia, Blacklisted, KongoBoys, Empire of Sindria, Gang of Fools, Kingdom Foxes, The Clowns, Nefarious Ravens, Sins of Seedia, The Aquarium, Wynn Legacy and Profession Heaven.[3] Twelve days later the megalist's alliance section was deleted, and no public alliance roster was ever posted again.[4] Titans Valor's Discord bot consumed an alliance-claims feed built on Avicia's site code between April and December 2022, the two guilds sharing alliance infrastructure across this window.[5]
Membership shifted at the edges. IceBlue Team was a founding member that had left by 12 June 2022; Gang of Fools joined that same month;[6] and Kingdom Foxes left around July 2022, when it entered sustained war with bloc guilds.[2] Both Kingdom Foxes and Gang of Fools appear on the June roster yet fought bloc guilds in adjacent months.
Rename
At the start of Season 8 (autumn 2022), “Cucumber was archived. The new alliance name is called Smtn else”, per Titan Times vol. 6 — the same issue that records Gang of Fools having “left and betrayed the alliance”.[7] The bloc's history continues under smtn elf.
Membership
Joins are approximated to the Season 5 boundary; the roster is as of 26 June 2022.
Legacy
Cucumber Company ended the two-bloc war era of 2021 by absorbing both sides, and its June 2022 roster post became a historical landmark by accident: the deletion of the megalist's alliance section twelve days later marks the start of the private-diplomacy era[4], in which alliances ceased to be publicly recorded.
