Eden's own recruitment thread describes it as having 'a deep history, both in guild politics and community relations' and states an aim 'to be a strong, independent force in Wynncraft politics'.^[1] In the winter of 2020-21 it was one of the guilds that broke Artemis's hold on the map,^[2] and in May 2021 it was a founding member of Khaos.^[3]

Government

Eden governs itself as an 'Empire' with an unusually formal constitution for a Wynncraft guild, set out in its recruitment thread. Three institutions sit under the Emperor, the guild's leader, whose principal power is a veto: the Agora, of which every member is part and where non-binding votes are taken; the Legion, the guild's military, open to any member who applies for an army rank; and the Senate, which votes on decisions affecting the whole guild. Senate ranks run Consul (two, one permanent and one elected monthly, handling foreign relations), Dux (senior officers below the Consuls), and Senate; below them come Legate, Legionnaire and Citizen. An Emperor can only be replaced when the incumbent steps down and hands over.^[1]

In 2020-21 Yugito led Eden - he opened the guild's forum thread on 1 January 2020 and answered on it throughout that year - with Lev98bug, Asthae and Rothboy among its chiefs and senators. By the time the thread was last revised, in January 2025, the Senate had turned over completely: it listed FadeDave as Emperor, Asthae as a Consul and Yugito as one of six Duxes, in a body of fourteen.^[1]

History

Against Artemis (2020-21)

In March 2020 Asthae, an Eden chief, posted as an involved party in the thread attacking the Artemis alliance, replying to a critic that 'clearly I am the chief who messaged you'.^[4] Nine months later Eden was on the other side of the map from Artemis. The 'Guild Moderators' thread of 18 December 2020 - the flashpoint of the Dec 2020 moderation crisis - names Eden among the then-unnamed anti-Artemis coalition,^[2] and Asthae posted in support of it within three minutes of publication.^[5]

That coalition acquired a name the following month: on 19 January 2021 Eden's chief Lev98bug wrote to the megalist, 'Eden is in Goose if you could add that.'^[6] Eden's standing inside Goose was substantial. In February 2021, arguing about the 1.20 war rework, Rothboy and Lev98bug spoke for the Goose side against a critic,^[7] and a third poster cited 'EDN who had to literally try crawl through ERN terrs' as an example of what warring against fortified Emorians territory cost.^[8] When Drasalia of ChinaNumberOne drew the Goose alliance in April 2021, Eden led the second thread: 'Eden, the big bois who own a whole lotta territory. Really cool guys but I get a military vibe from them since I see them helping out other guilds during wars a lot.'^[9]

Khaos (2021-22)

At the Great Collapse of 11 May 2021, Eden was one of the nine guilds that founded Khaos rather than Valhalla, alongside Aequitas, Wheres The Finish, Nerfuria, Tartarus Wrath, Ultra Violet, Fuzzy Spiders, ChinaNumberOne and Cyphrus Code. It fought the war against the ex-Valhalla guilds that peaked in January 2022.^[3] Khaos was defunct by 26 June 2022; Eden does not appear in Cucumber Company's roster of that date,^[10] and no later alliance membership is recorded for it.

The coup

At some point before April 2023, Eden was overthrown from within. The only account is by xK6TA, a former member describing his own past in an April 2023 guild application to Titans Valor: 'I was a part of Eden when it was #1 and slightly after it got couped.' The application repeats the claim once - 'Eden when it was #1, it got couped when I was a player lol'.^[11]

The coup's actors and date were never recorded, and what '#1' meant is not known: Eden never won a guild season,^[12] and no other ranking of the period placed Eden first. The guild survived the coup: its recruitment thread was still being maintained in 2025, with a full Senate and an Emperor who was not Yugito.^[1]
