Between December 2020 and June 2022 it was the only public, dated record of who was allied with whom - and nearly every known alliance roster of the Artemis-Goose and realignment eras traces to one of its posts.

Authorship

The thread was created on 29 November 2020 by Sg_Voltage, who maintained it for years afterwards^[1]. Pally - PaladinSorcerer of Titans Valor - was a reader, and the author of the thread's 2 December 2020 alliance post^[2], but never its maintainer. Sg_Voltage's own guild affiliation is unknown; his forum profile displayed a CHAMPION rank and no guild^[3].

The opening post set out the project - 'I've assembled a list of every* guild which is currently recruiting along with some important stats for each ... My goal is to be able to make sure every guild gets the chance to shine' - and the listing itself lived in a Google Sheet edited by the guilds themselves: 'If you're a high ranking member of a guild and want to see your guild added or want to make changes, send me a message with your Gmail and I'll give you editing permission.' One of the sheet's columns was Alliances - 'Some guilds are in alliances for warring, this is where they're listed' - and that column is why the thread matters to guild history^[3]. After Sg_Voltage was asked whether he intended to update it weekly, forum administrator colin350 pinned the thread on 17 January 2021^[4].

Landmark posts

Its landmark entries include: the 2 December 2020 post by Pally (post #10) recording that 'ANO is apart of the alliances Hestia (a community alliance between ANO, ESI, LXA, and PUN) and Artemis (war alliance) made up of all the current massive land holding guilds on the map'^[2] - the first record of both Hestia and Artemis; two posts on the morning of 19 January 2021, 99loulou999's 'TNR (TNI and TNA) are part of Goose' and Lev98bug's 'Eden is in Goose if you could add that', the earliest recorded uses of the name Goose, to which Sg_Voltage replied 'Just want to drop in and say that I'm a huge fan of the name'^[5]; the 1 February 2021 side-switch report by urbymine ('BNU(IBT), SHY and TNL are all goose now')^[6]; the 25 May 2021 post recording the Valhalla/Khaos renames after the Great Collapse^[7]; Pally's six-guild Hestia roster of 6 June 2021^[8]; the 7 July 2021 Niflheim roster^[9]; and the 26 June 2022 post giving Cucumber Company's full 14-guild roster^[10] - the last public alliance roster ever posted anywhere.

The deletion

Twelve days later, on 7 July 2022, the thread's alliance section was deleted. Replying to the Cucumber Company roster in post #161, Sg_Voltage first explained that 'for alliance information, it's supposed to be updated by the guilds themselves, I noticed it was out of date so I just moved it to the side. I don't care to follow guild drama', then added: 'You know what, on second thought I'm just going to delete that section. If it's not updated regularly it's not really useful anyways.'^[11] The deletion marks the boundary between the public record and the private diplomacy era: no alliance roster has been published since^[12][13].

The thread itself outlived its alliance column. Sg_Voltage reported the sheet being flagged by Google in January 2023 and was still fielding update requests that March, and readers were still posting to it in 2025^[14]. The underlying Google Sheet was never captured by any web archive, so the Valhalla- and Khaos-era rosters it once held are gone from the public web^[15]; the thread's posts survive partly through Wayback Machine snapshots^[3].
